In our upcoming production of "The Wizard of Oz," directed jointly by Joseph J. Simeone and Matthew Couvillon, we present a fresh and immersive interpretation in Shanandoah, following a successful proof of concept by students in New York. Our version brings a unique twist to the classic tale, combining the talents of nine actors with the magic of over 60 diverse puppets, from the smallest Munchkin to the grandest flying monkey, each meticulously crafted to bring this timeless story to life.

Set against the backdrop of a turn-of-the-century traveling theater in Kansas, the audience is immediately drawn into a world where every detail, from the gentle sway of the grass to the alluring scent of carnival treats, sets the stage for a captivating journey. The vardo wagon, a central piece of our set, transforms magically to guide Dorothy and her friends through the colorful Munchkinland, the dark forest, the Wicked Witch's haunted castle, and finally, the Emerald City.

This summer's full staging represents not just a theatrical production but an exploration of the concept of home. Through the eyes of nomadic characters seeking their place in the world, we invite our audience to reflect on what 'home' means to them. Our collaborative effort with Matthew Couvillon has been a journey of artistic discovery, aiming to create an experience that resonates deeply with our audience, inspiring wonder and introspection.
